Using the Demonstration Version

The demonstration version of the Format Wizard is identical to the full version with the following exceptions:

• It is not copy-protected.  There are no restrictions on distribution or time limits on use.
• It works only with the accompanying demonstration files.  Attempts to use it with other files are blocked.

To run the demonstration, start with a blank worksheet.  Next, ensure that the wizard has been properly installed as an add-in A special type of hidden spreadsheet that when loaded extends Excel's functionality..  If you need help, refer to  Installation.htm, included with your demonstration package.

Select Tools | LG formatter  from Excel's main menu.  This runs the wizard, which displays  the following window.

Click Help if you need help (probably not necessary).  Click the Next button to continue to Step 2.

Click on Import Latent GOLD run to see the following dialog box:

Load any of these text files.  Each contains results from different examples of Latent GOLD® models.  The types should be obvious from the files names with the exception of "Latent GOLD shoe.txt", which contains results from a latent choice model.

The wizard will import the results into Excel and take you to Step 3.  Feel free to save the intermediate workbook if you wish. 

Clicking Format Latent GOLD workbook will add useful formatting to the workbook you just created, rendering the information more presentable and providing insights into what the model is telling you.
